New Cell Phone Batteries are Cheaper and More Efficient

SiNode Systems is developing new cell phone battery technology that is cheaper and lasts longer than the current lithium ion batteries. How does it work? A composite of silicon nano-particles and graphene – silicon anodes don’t last very long, but when layered with graphene, they are protected. The technology is flexible, conductive (eliminating the need for charging cables), and holds a strong charge (nearly ten times that of current graphite-anode cell phone batteries). It also recharges over five times faster.
